Just a few photos from our early morning Angels Landing Hike. We got up early and caught the 5:45 a.m. shuttle to the trail head and finished up the hike in time to get back to camp for a nice late morning breakfast.

My last blog was on July 3rd and since then, I’ve had many new experiences, not the kind I would have planned on but the kind that have made me appreciate my faith, the strength of prayer and every member of my family more. It all began in Yosemite. Our family enjoys camping together. We’ve camped at the beaches for years – Doheny State Beach is a favorite and we’ve camped at Zion National Park and back in 2009 in Yosemite. This year, we had reservations at the Upper Pines Campground in Yosemite Valley. This means that several months ago, we set a strategy – choosing a week and a range of campsites and gave everyone the date and time that the coveted and hard to get reservations would open. On a Sunday morning in March we all woke up early and had our hoped for reservations chosen on the National Park Service Reservation website www.recreation.gov . Raising our Children to be Kind, Good, Responsible and Happy Young Adults

The thing of which I’m most proud is the fact the four kids we’ ve been blessed to raise, have turned out to be well adjusted, kind, happy, and just good people. This isn ’t to say that we haven’t had so me dire worries, issues and concerns over the years. Those crazy early years – most of the 80’s is just a a blur of sleepless nights, changing diapers, cleaning up poop and vomit messes at all hours of the day and night in cars, beds and cribs, and if we’re lucky, outside somewhere. (We us ed to have a dog that would lick up vom it with relish the moment it hit the ground. I’m not really fond of dogs, but they do serve some useful purposes. They're really good at cleaning the floors under the tab le too.) John was often a teacher at the same school the kids attended, but that didn ’t mean they got any favors or special treatment – at least by him. Week # 1 of 52 New Things for 2011 -- A New Job!

On Monday, January 3rd of 2011, I began my new position as Marketing Director with North American Medical Management (NAMM/PrimeCare) in Ontario. This is a great way to start this "year of something new" off with a huge bang! This week in my new and very bare office in Ontario -- looking south at the 10 Freeway just west of Mathis Brothers Furniture Store. I've been working since I graduated from college in 1991. (And, yes, if you're doing the math, I was a slightly older than usual college graduate.) I followed an "old school" path and got married very young -- in my case, age 18. I had four children by the time I was 28; and, to keep my sanity when the kids were young, I attended college part time in the evenings for over 10 years to earn my bachelor of science in health care administration from Cal State San Bernardino.
